My First Day

I moved in to my studio flat yesterday. 'Better than expected' was the reaction amongst my family and I. It's spacious, has white walls (my favourite colour!) and has a calm living feel to it. The kitchen is tiny though, it's a good thing I don't cook lol. There's an awesome microwave oven that does all of the features of both an oven and a microwave. It actually makes me want to roast a chicken. There are even recycling bins in my room which I am so happy about! Separate ones for paper, plastics and glass. (Images of my flat are below, so keep reading...)

I wish I could live here forever, but then again, there are loads of newly-built flats that look like this these days. Although students live here, it's quiet and calm. I'm assuming the walls are thick because I can't hear a peep from my neighbours. I used to dream of living in a mansion or a massive detached house (with at least 5 bedrooms), but now I want to live in a flat like this, just bigger. I'd want my flat to be the whole floor because I still want a big spacious home, like New York flats/houses (whatever they are). I'd want my family, especially my sisters, to live in the same building so we can hang out whenever we want. I miss them a lot, which is the downside to moving away. The building is so secure and people are on hand to help you, you just have to ask. The view from my room is beautiful too.

So, today was my first day at university. Daunting, scary, but exciting. I met loads of new people, most of which I hope to be friends with. I'm studying Fashion Merchandising Management, so if I'm totally honest I expected people to be quite rude or loud. I'm naturally quiet, so I usually have to do more to get noticed. A lot of the people I've encountered so far on previous fashion courses/activities have been unfriendly or very opinionated. They formed friendships with a few people and that was it; they didn't bother with anyone else. I found it hard to get to know people because of this. I felt like no matter how hard I tried I'd never fit in or form a friendship like most of them had with other people. This course, however, is different! People are friendly and getting to know everyone. No one's excluding anyone. I hope it stays this way because it's a great class so far. Now I just need to find that one person (or people) who I really click with and will be really good friends with.

This is freshers' week, so no work all play. I can't wait for the freshers fair on Friday; I'm gonna join so many societies and take up a sport (only because I don't want to get fat and I need to keep fit, I HATE exercise, but it's important). I want to get to know loads of people. Friendships don't always last, but I'm determined to make solid friendships with at least 5 people that last way beyond graduation. I like to think that some of the friends I made from the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy are for life, same with school and sixth form.

Here are some of the pictures I took of my flat yesterday. Spot the tiny kitchen, the large desk and the awesome TV mounted on the wall:

A few selfies for the sake of it :P
