The Voice Kids UK 2017: Top Six Acts
Hello,
How amazing are the kids on The Voice Kids UK!? I thought they were going to be good, but they are unbelievable! They are serious competition for the contestants from the adult version of the show and they were incredible (Remember Mo anybody?). Some of the performances have been truly unforgettable, from James Brown to Skepta. These kids have strong identities of their own already. They may be small but their voices say otherwise.
On to the judges: Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones (Mcfly). Not only are they all talented but they all bring something different to the show. Different personalities, genres and talents. Where else will you see a chilled songwriting rocker, a dancing pop diva and an excitable American producer and rapper judging the same kids? I honestly cannot imagine any other judging panel being as diverse and interesting as this one. The energy is ridiculous as well! Will.i.am sprang on to the stage to join an aspiring rapper and Danny pulled out his guitar to jam with an aspiring rockstar. I can't wait to see if Pixie duets with someone too. Maybe she'll pull out her dance moves. Only two weeks have gone by so far, there's so much more excitement to come.
I cannot get enough of this show, seriously! So to satisfy my needs, I have compiled a list of my six favourite auditions so far:
Starting the countdown at number SIX is Adam with 'When you love someone'. His voice is fractured and sweet like a broken angel. It's the sort of voice I am obsessed with. I can tell he's got so much more to give, so I can't wait for the next stage.
At number FIVE is Erin with her own arrangement of 'All About You' by Mcfly. Her voice is very mature for her age and has such strength and emotion buried in it. The audition was a lot more understated and mellow than other auditions but I loved it. A voice like that does not demand fancy notes.
Sitting at number FOUR is Courtney with 'Nutbush City Limits'. Her dance moves were crazy! I'm a bit jealous to be honest. If I had that amount of energy I'd be dancing on stage like James Brown too. Her stage presence is unreal, I can't wait to see what else she does on the show.
Standing strong at number THREE is the first act of the entire show, Jessica. She aced 'Somebody to Love' by Queen, showing her gigantic range and strength. The end note was unreal. She is going to be a strong contender, no doubt about it.
Just missing the top spot at number TWO is Lil' T with 'Shut Down'. I don't know how hard he tried but he shut down the auditions in one take! I'm not a fan of the song but his energy pulled me up and filled me with glee. There's no way you can watch it and not enjoy his audition. I love this boy!
This is the moment of truth, number ONE. We've seen some amazing auditions and had some very memorable moments but who has topped the list? Taking the top spot, very deservingly is Riccardo with 'Hallelujah'. This Italian powerhouse blew the roof off the house. I cannot wait to see what else he does in this process.
So there we have it, my six favourite auditions from The Voice Kids UK so far. Hope you enjoyed watching their performances as much as I did.
I couldn't help but watch some of my favourite performances from the adult version of the Voice UK as well, so here are my top three performances, which just so happens to be the acts that made it to the final:
