Broken inside

Emotional scars are the worst. They tear through you and they never heal. I wrote this poem a while ago, but I didn't feel the need to publish it anywhere. Yet again, my sisters and I have felt the wrath of anger and it HAS to stop. Domestic violence is a serious offense, but all I feel we can do is run.

Here is my poem:

How do you do it so easily?
Make then break someone like it's nothing
No need for a knife, 'cause your words stab deeper
Just hit me in the face, it'll hurt much less
Reduced to nothing for no apparent reason
Yet you think I need you when I never did
All I need is a loving hold
Not someone who treats me so cold

Sometimes I hate you 'cause you make me cry
With one single word I always try
To escape, be safe and live a life
Where everyone's happy and free to fly

Can you not see the hurt in their eyes
When you call them a bitch, take them by surprise?
You beat down their hopes so they don't try
Weaken their souls then always lie
Reduced to nothing for no apparent reason
Yet you think they need you when they never did
All they need is a loving hold
Not someone who treats them so cold

It's a miracle we're not seriously messed up, let alone suicidal. We all suffer from stress related problems, yet even that's not enough to stop him. He hates us, especially my sisters, but we don't know why.
