Graduation
I graduated yesterday!!! It was awesome! Music was blaring, I was with my friends and my parents proudly observed me on the stage. Sadly I didn't win the National Entrepreneur Of The Year Award, but I had a great experience AND I got a Windows 8 tablet for being a runner up! I'm so proud of me for getting to the final 6! It was a hard journey, but I made it to the top! The winner was amazing. He was a worthy winner (as were all my opponents), there's no way I can feel down about the result. This year has been amazing, beyond incredible. I even met Prince Andrew (the Duke of York) in the VIP section after the ceremony. What an incredible day!
The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy has not only helped me find a career path, but it has developed me into a better person, the person I am today. I'm a confident businesswoman who lives for the future now. In September I was an extremely shy student who's biggest fears were public speaking and running a business in case it failed, yet 11 months later here I am doing both. No longer am I afraid of failure, I embrace it. If I fail it means I tried. I swear I never did a better thing than join the academy.
The best thing the academy has done for me is its given me confidence. Not only confidence when I'm talking to people but self-confidence and self-belief. I believe in myself much more than I did at the beginning of the course and I believe in my business. I believe it will be successful as long as I continue using the skills I've learnt and retain my confidence. People buy into you, not just your business. I've come a long way since September, from holding my head down in the corner of the room to networking with high profile people. I wouldn't have made this transition if I didn't put in the work to meet the demands of the course. The fact that you have to actually run a business has helped a lot because its given me the practical knowledge that will stick with me way beyond graduation. For me this is not only a course, it's the start of a career!
